As the Director of Cloud Infrastructure and Operations at Ridgeline, you’ll provide technical leadership to teams developing high-quality, creative business applications in a fast-moving, progressive work environment. You’ll think outside the box and add your vision, passion, and interests to the software development lifecycle.
As a Ridgeline engineering leader, you will also help preserve our people- and team-based culture and guide the trajectory of an ambitious tech startup. Our team aims to leave a legacy in an investment management industry primed for change.
Day-to-day, you will play a critical role in helping to advance the Ridgeline platform, Engineering operations, and development and production infrastructure. Reporting to Ridgeline’s Chief Security Officer and SVP of Infrastructure and Operations, you will be responsible for our Cloud Infrastructure & Operations teams and facilitating our DevOps process, including shared services deployment, observability, quality engineering, automation, and overall infrastructure architecture and orchestration.
What will you do?
- Apply your business insight, technical acumen, and experience–in addition to engineering best practices–to teams that collaborate closely and support application teams
- Influence and guide the entire software development process, from requirements and design reviews to implementing a new product.
- Expertise with agile development methodologies, including CI/CD.
- Champion reliability, performance, and scale of Ridgeline’s core infrastructure services, with a keen focus on developer experience, metrics, and data-driven decision-making.
- Drive technical teams and decision-making to enable continuous and successful delivery of an enterprise SaaS solution
- Coach, mentor, and inspire technical teams that are responsible for delivering high-performing, secure enterprise applications
- Engage in team and individual performance conversations and help align business objectives, key results, and career goals
- Leveraging organizational design methodology, managing resource allocations for product engineers, and partnering with Technical Program Management to track the completion of deliverables for each team.
- Impact a developing tech stack based on modern front-end frameworks and cost-efficient utilization of AWS back-end services
- Build a diverse team and foster a collaborative and inclusive environment
- Ensure close relationships in a multi-location organization, unifying our product and engineering teams under service ownership principles
- Collaborate deeply with key leadership partners across Product Engineering, the Office of the CTO, and Customer Success.
Desired Skills and Experience
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related discipline
- 5+ years in a software engineering management position leading people, with experience supporting both managers and individual contributors and an ability to keep a pulse on people in a fast-paced organization
- Entrepreneurial mindset used for dealing with ambiguity and rapid, consequential decision-making
- A history of architecting and designing new products and technologies utilizing public cloud
- Ability to lead and influence both with and without authority
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and architectural patterns
- Ability to focus on short-term deliverables while maintaining a big-picture perspective
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels
- Experience recruiting and evaluating talent and building software development teams from scratch
Bonus:
- Experience with investment management applications on either the buy side or sell side
- Background in design, economics, or business

The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below. In select locations (including, the San Francisco Bay Area, CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below.
The typical starting salary range for this role is: $235,000-$275,000.
The typical starting salary range for this role in the select locations listed above is: $250,000-$287,500.
Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amount listed above.
