Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5-10 years of related experience in journalism, communications, public relations or marketing, including experience with internal communications platforms, software and analytics.
  • An excellent writing portfolio, including news and copywriting for multiple platforms and audiences, with demonstrated ability to efficiently create high-impact content.
  • Ability to independently and efficiently conceptualize, plan and lead effective communications, including visual and multimedia content with measurable impact and results.
  • Applied knowledge of organizational voice and editorial style.
  • Proficiency with multiple communications platforms, software and analytics, as well as asset and content management; familiarity with content management systems such as Salesforce.
  • Knowledge and experience working with webinar and video-conferencing technology and platforms.
  • Critical-thinking ability to analyze and resolve problems and develop solutions.
  • Ability to think strategically in program planning and development.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships and work effectively with peers, teams, departments, leadership and external partners to achieve organizational goals.

Responsibilities
  • Advance the organization’s mission, vision and core values while adhering to its policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with senior management and teams across the organization to develop and implement timely, sustainable and effective internal communications and guidance.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources, senior leadership and employee committees to plan and implement internal communications that reinforce positive culture and organizational values.
  • Identify and analyze needs, opportunities, feedback, metrics and best practices to plan, develop, implement and evaluate internal communications activities.
  • Manage all aspects of the monthly Town Hall meeting, including researching topics, writing scripts, coaching presenters, producing presentation slides, scheduling and executing rehearsals and meetings, editing recordings, and ensuring attendance and participation.
  • Provide strategic communication support for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging and Culture initiatives.
  • Execute awareness and action planning around the annual Engagement and Inclusion Survey.
  • Contribute to new-hire onboarding by presenting at New Hire Orientation and producing the New Hire Starter Guide.
  • Ensure staff awareness of Board of Directors activities, initiatives and new members.
  • Disseminate Board of Directors reports through the staff newsletter.
  • Write and maintain current board member profiles for the website.
  • Serve as a Marketing and Communications liaison to the Advisory Board.
  • Conceptualize, research, synthesize, write, edit and produce ongoing internal executive and all-staff communications in print, digital and video/multimedia formats.
  • Develop, disseminate and update communications concerning business information, organizational changes, employee benefits, strategic and operational performance, special events, employee development initiatives, emergency management, surveys and announcements.
  • Develop and manage the content calendar and internal communications platforms, processes, tactics and tools, including the employee intranet, internal e-newsletters, monthly all-staff meetings, all-staff emails and digital signage.
  • Train staff on communications guidelines and corporate style and brand standards.
  • Provide education on ServiceNow to approved producers on Connect 2.0.
  • Contribute to revisions of the Communications Handbook.
  • Develop and provide standards, guidance and support for leaders, staff, departments, work groups and committees contributing content, sharing information and using internal communications platforms and processes.
  • Review sanctioned internal newsletters and all-staff communications for adherence to organizational standards and processes.
  • Monitor, vet and respond to or triage public website inquiries to organizational departments, ensuring responses within 24 hours.
  • Provide messaging support on sensitive issues when needed.
  • Identify content and subjects for human-interest features for external awareness and education on the website and social media channels.
  • Independently research, write and edit speaking points, letters, scripts, presentations and other staff-directed communications, reflecting each communicator’s voice and customizing content for the employee population.
  • Participate as a Marketing and Communications member or liaison with internal employee committees, including Charitable Giving, Safety, Beyond the Call and PULSE teams, to guide and facilitate internal communications.
  • Develop and maintain metrics, databases and tracking tools; monitor and analyze program effectiveness, analyze trends, and provide regular reports and recommendations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and professional and technical knowledge in marketing, communications and customer-experience technologies and practices.
  • Independently manage special projects as assigned.
  • Assist Marketing and Communications team members with communications initiatives as needed.
  • Facilitate timely identification and reporting of opportunities for improvement, deviations, complaints and adverse events to support quality assurance and performance improvement.
  • Contribute to cybersecurity awareness.
  • Protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of organizational information assets by following security policies and procedures, completing cybersecurity training, reporting potential security issues, and securely handling data, systems and credentials.
  • Complete required administrative tasks and training and honor commitments in a timely manner.
  • Participate in learning and professional development and maintain written short- and long-term professional development goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
