Requirements
  • The role requires a Master's Degree or higher.
  • The candidate must be licensed to practice in Maryland as a Registered Nurse.
  • The candidate must have 3-5 years of clinical and/or teaching experience with a gerontological or related focus.
  • The candidate must have knowledge and experience in curriculum design, development, and instruction for adult learners.
  • The candidate must have knowledge of the principles, practices, and regulations of long-term care.
  • The candidate must demonstrate critical thinking, communication, presentation, classroom facilitation, collaboration, organization, flexibility, adaptability, and sound decision-making skills.
  • The candidate must demonstrate core competencies in current clinical practices and knowledge.
  • The candidate must be able to analyze and interpret technical requirements and develop appropriate training solutions and measurements.
  • The candidate must be able to work within a constantly changing, flexible, resident-centered environment.
  • The candidate must be able to travel.
  • The candidate must have knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Responsibilities
  • Provide corporate support to leadership, Regional Directors, and staff to achieve educational objectives based on identified learning needs, policies and procedures, and state and federal regulations.
  • Assist in delivering classroom and one-on-one training, coaching, and development to new hires and existing team members.
  • Hire, direct, and manage Staff Education Specialists.
  • Design, develop, and deliver new training solutions and materials, including job skills and soft skills curricula.
  • Design and develop blended learning solutions, including self-study guides, coaching tools, and job aids.
  • Conduct task and skill-set assessments.
  • Track and analyze programs by examining learner satisfaction levels, proficiency testing, and job performance, and help develop and revise programs, evaluation tools, and measurements to determine curriculum effectiveness.
  • Contact attendees, schedule classrooms, prepare room setups, conduct follow-up evaluations, monitor and maintain the training records database, and manage other administrative details.
  • Serve as a resource for staff questions regarding training needs and programs.
  • Attend workshops and participate in educational experiences that maintain and improve clinical, teaching, and leadership skills.
  • Maintain and catalogue written education materials, videos, and equipment and make them available to staff when needed.
  • Implement employee-relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote employee morale.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of the nursing industry and standards of care, and demonstrate sound decision-making and judgment in educational activities involving all levels of patient care.
  • Develop and evaluate educational programs for a variety of adult audiences.
  • Use professional techniques to stimulate learner interest, motivate constructive action, and support the incorporation of knowledge and skills.
  • Coordinate and develop a corporate master training schedule.
  • Obtain input from facility Executive Directors in performance appraisals of assigned Education Specialists.
  • Coordinate Education Specialists' progress toward goals, mandatory in-services, and corporate learning initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Abide by FutureCare's Statement of Corporate Ethics and Corporate Compliance Plan.
