Requirements

  • Candidates must have a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and reliable and prompt attendance.
  • Candidates must be capable of working in and being exposed to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain duties, including Drive-Up and carryout.
  • Candidates must remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift, whose length may vary.
Responsibilities
  • Consistently deliver guest experience commitments to create an Easy, Inspiring, and Friendly guest experience.
  • Ensure every team member understands, is trained, and consistently delivers Target’s guest experience commitments and consistent operations.
  • Actively observe and provide feedback, hold team members accountable, and recognize strong guest experience moments.
  • Review area guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, take action to improve, align the team on behaviors and execution, celebrate wins, drive results, and elevate the guest experience.
  • Understand sales goals and plans, and execute daily and weekly workload to deliver department and store sales goals and guest engagement.
  • Lead and share expertise in operations, freshness, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • With guidance from the direct leader, establish clear goals and expectations and hold team members accountable.
  • Use workload planning tools to complete all scheduled workload and ensure areas are guest-ready at store open.
  • Assign daily tasks to team members based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns, aligned with weekly and monthly business priorities.
  • Assess all general merchandise backroom and sales-floor areas and review reporting to identify gaps and develop plans to resolve issues.
  • Ensure product is available for purchase to enable a consistent guest experience.
  • Assist the direct leader in leading and following up on organizational and operational change.
  • Build a team of general merchandise experts from initial selection through onboarding and learning, and develop team members through ongoing training, direction, and feedback when validating work completion.
  • Demonstrate inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and approaches, being authentic and respectful, and creating equitable experiences.
  • Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance, and lead the team to follow the same standards while holding others accountable.
  • Lead and demonstrate a safety culture by modeling and recognizing safe behaviors, identifying and correcting hazards, holding the team accountable to safety expectations, assisting with incident response, and reporting and investigating injuries timely and accurately.
  • Model physical security processes to enhance the in-store security culture.
  • Support merchandise protection strategies across the total store, including ordering, storage, and application as directed by best practices.
  • Follow all safe-and-secure training and processes when serving as a key carrier, if applicable.
  • Occasionally assume store-level leader-on-duty responsibilities during assigned shifts based on store needs.
  • Address all store and off-site emergency and compliance needs.
  • Support guest services such as backup cashier, order pickup, and Drive-Up while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local adult beverage laws.
  • Perform other duties based on business needs.

  • Previous retail experience is preferred but not required.
