Responsibilities
  • Proactively identify and perform special projects and studies that innovatively solve unique & complex problems with broad impact to the business. Develop alternate methods or design concepts to resolve unique problems or to improve processes/services.
  • Solves unique and complex Distributed Generation (DG) Interconnection problems. Utilizes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions. (e.g., Customer generators, photovoltaic systems, fuel cells).
  • Approve, maintain, & understand drawings (e.g., schematics, one-line diagrams). Assemble documents & other requirements for assignments of complex level of difficulty using depth & breadth of expertise in own discipline.
  • Recognized expert for generator interconnections. Interpret internal/external business issues and recommend best practices and/or process improvements. Participate in Industry associations.
  • Lead teams and acts as a facilitator and experienced mentor. Develops innovative services, technologies, & make recommendations with respect to current and future stakeholders needs. May be required to make presentations to regulatory/public entities.
  • Facilitate DG Interconnection project teams to complete assigned tasks and projects. Experienced mentor to engineers for DG interconnections in design and engineering development. Manages and provides direction for resources outside of the department.
  • Design systems to resolve overly complex problems in non-standard situations & develop creative solutions that achieve division results. Independently apply design standards, industry codes, design criteria, guidelines & UI polices/procedures.
  • Has depth and breadth of knowledge and interprets processes and standards related to DG. Recommends solutions and best practices where appropriate. Represents Engineering on projects, task forces and studies.
  • Develop business cases and manage divisional and company-wide projects/processes/initiatives. Participates in the development of the project/process strategy, in addition to project execution.
  • Forecast, plan, schedule, monitor, control budget/estimates, construction plans. Participate in the management of resource allocations to ensure adequate resources are available.
  • Utilize knowledge to influence and guide department engineers
  • Provide technical leadership in most complex projects that have a wide impact on the business
  • Mentor, develop and support team in technical skills SME for team
  • Liaison/ direct contractors on company policy, standards, and best practices

Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree Preferred
  • A professional Engineering license from the State of Connecticut is preferred.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills to decipher unique technical and analytical problems,Proven ability to lead and manage projects,Strong communication and interpersonal skills to articulate highly technical concepts,Strong management and leadership skills, ability to drive change and adoption of new technologies.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory environment including relevant output and incentive mechanisms.
  • General contract, commercial and regulatory awareness with the ability to balance effective and efficient customer service and project delivery, ensuring maximum return on investment.
  • Track record of effective stakeholder and customer service engagement and management.
  • Ability to communicate and present information effectively at all levels
  • Ability to manage competing priorities using sound engineering and financial judgment to determine optimal solutions

Wallbox restructures $191.5M debt with Spanish banks as Catalan government takes stake

Wallbox, the Barcelona-based electric vehicle charging systems company, has closed a debt restructuring agreement worth €169.5 million with creditors representing over 83% of its financial debt. The deal includes a capital increase that will bring the Generalitat of Catalonia in as a shareholder. The agreement, pending judicial approval and scheduled for signing on 8 April, restructures existing debt into a €57.6 million framework loan and a €69.1 million bullet instrument, both maturing in December 2030. A working capital agreement of approximately €42.8 million was also reached. The restructuring includes a €10.65 million capital increase, with strategic shareholders contributing €5.65 million and the Generalitat adding €5 million. Participating banks will provide €12.5 million in new financing. CEO Enric Asunción said the agreement strengthens Wallbox's financial position.

Iberdrola's US arm reaches 11 GW capacity across 100 projects in 25 states

Avangrid, the US arm of Spanish utility Iberdrola, has reached over 11 gigawatts of installed generation capacity across nearly 100 projects in 25 states. The company said its expanding portfolio helps meet surging energy demand driven by data centres powering AI development, new manufacturing and electrification initiatives. Avangrid produced 25,058 gigawatt hours of electricity in 2025, making the US Iberdrola's second-largest market by net production after Spain. The generation comprised primarily onshore wind, cogeneration and solar. Avangrid's projects paid $61 million in local tax revenue in 2025. The US accounted for $15.6 billion of Iberdrola's total asset base at yearend 2025. Iberdrola reported €6.29 billion in net profit for 2025, up 12 per cent year-on-year.

Iberdrola files takeover bid to acquire 100% of Brazilian subsidiary Neoenergia at $5.72 per share

Iberdrola has officially registered documentation for a public takeover offer for all shares of its Brazilian subsidiary Neoenergia not currently controlled by the group. The acquisition price is set at 32.5 Brazilian reals per share, adjusted for official interest and dividends declared by Neoenergia. The documentation has been submitted to Brazil's securities regulator Comissão de Valores Mobiliários and stock exchange B3. The offer, announced on 24 November 2025, covers 16.2% of Neoenergia's share capital, which would give Iberdrola 100% ownership. Neoenergia, with 90% of its business focused on electricity networks, serves nearly 40 million Brazilians through five distribution companies across six states and 18 transmission lines, making it Brazil's largest distribution group by customer count.
