Requirements
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.

  • Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Delaware.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care to patients in accordance with their individualized care plans.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, oral care, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Assist with transportation and transfers of patients, ensuring comfort and safety during movement.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, intake and output, and other patient data, and report abnormalities or concerns to the nursing team.
  • Complete Accuchecks as directed.
  • Complete accurate and prompt documentation.
  • Assist with patient hygiene and comfort measures, including turning and repositioning patients to prevent pressure ulcers.
  • Support patients with feeding and hydration needs, adhere to dietary restrictions, assist with mealtime activities, and remove trays promptly.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care and promote positive patient outcomes.
  • Complete hourly rounds for assigned patients, anticipate patient needs, and respond promptly to call lights and patient requests.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families, demonstrating empathy and compassion in interactions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized patient environment by changing bed linens, stocking supplies, ensuring patient-room cleanliness, and preparing rooms for admissions and transfers.
  • Adhere to infection-control protocols and hospital policies and procedures to maintain a safe and sanitary environment for patients and staff.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance patient-care skills and knowledge of hospital procedures.
Desired Qualifications
  • High school diploma, or current high school student with a Certified Nursing Assistant license and a work schedule compliant with State of Delaware Department of Labor regulations.
