Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or real estate, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
  • At least six years of work experience in the analysis of residential or commercial real estate, lending, or underwriting is required.
  • Specific experience is required in loan documentation, appraisal review, due diligence, or an equivalent area.
  • Strong knowledge of evaluating and underwriting mortgage loan files, including loan documentation, is required.
  • A strong ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word is required.
  • Practical experience utilizing virtual private networks is required.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare for and participate in the evaluation of mortgage loan collateral pledged to the Bank, including residential loans, multifamily loans, commercial real estate loans, home equity lines of credit and second mortgages, and farmland mortgage loans, to evaluate loan quality and eligibility and ensure compliance with Bank policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Participate actively in departmental meetings, identify process weaknesses, and recommend improvements.
  • Develop, design, enhance, and maintain comprehensive financial spreadsheets, models, and collateral-related software systems to facilitate analysis and monitoring of the Bank's collateral.
  • Review third-party contractors' work and provide directional leadership regarding delegation and prioritization of collateral verification reviews.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced Collateral Risk Analysts regarding Collateral Services department policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Interact daily with member institutions regarding the eligibility of assets as collateral and provide guidelines and interpretations of the Bank's collateral policies.
  • Conduct exit meetings with senior management of member institutions and summarize collateral verification review findings.
  • Assist management in formulating Bank policies and procedures.
  • Assist in developing system and software programs to facilitate analysis and monitoring of member financial data and collateral information.
  • Travel for work, including some overnight travel.
Desired Qualifications
