Requirements
  • Meet all minimum qualifications for Pharmacy Technician II.
  • Have two years of pharmacy or clinical experience.
  • Have an advanced skillset in clinical care, including refill protocol, medication access, or medication reconciliation, or in retail operations, including inventory management or workforce management.
  • Have excellent skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database applications.
  • Maintain required licensure and yearly training requirements within the area of expertise and complete MAHEC organizational training.
  • Lift and carry 25 to 35 pounds and push or pull 50 to 100 pounds.
  • Regular attendance on-site is an essential function of the position.
  • Be flexible to work occasional evening activities or special assignments as requested by the team leader.
Responsibilities
  • Manage pharmacy workflows and systems, including dispensing, pharmacy information systems, and inventory management.
  • Maintain medication storage and security systems.
  • Manage medication recalls and backorders.
  • Connect patients to medication assistance resources, including managing patient assistance program applications through pharmaceutical manufacturers.
  • Collaborate with the prior authorizations team.
  • Assist pharmacists and other clinicians with medication histories as requested.
  • Perform medication refills using a standardized protocol.
  • Support learners in the pharmacy department.
Desired Qualifications
  • Graduation from a pharmacy technician training program.
  • Spanish speaking skills preferred.

It serves as a branch campus for UNC schools of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and public health, hosting the UNC Health Sciences at MAHEC and the UNC Gillings MPH program. It operates multiple clinics including Family Health, Ob/Gyn, Dental Health, and Community Pharmacies, and runs the region’s only high-risk obstetrics practice as a Federally Qualified Health Center Look-Alike. Its mission is to grow and improve the regional health workforce and health outcomes through hands-on clinical care, education from high school to graduate programs, and collaborative research.
