Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
  • One to three years of insurance sales or service experience is preferred.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Moderate knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word and Excel, is required.
  • A competitive and persistent nature at an advanced level is required.
  • Advanced organizational skills are required.
  • The ability to prioritize tasks and assignments is required.
  • A valid driver's license, an acceptable Department of Motor Vehicles record, and minimum liability insurance issued by the state are required.
  • A Property and Casualty Insurance License valid in the selling state and issued by the state is required.
Responsibilities
  • Sell insurance products and memberships and develop sales strategies to achieve production targets.
  • Participate in community and business activities and events to prospect for membership and insurance sales opportunities and consistently identify leads.
  • Use direct mail, referral systems, cross-selling, networking, centers of influence, and prospect purchases to obtain leads and prospects for AAA products.
  • Maintain expertise regarding Club products and services and communicate effectively with members and prospective insureds.
  • Conduct needs analyses to quote rates and qualify applicants, inspect vehicles or property, and complete documentation according to underwriting criteria, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Apply proper ratings to new policies based on insured statements, current underwriting guidelines, and completed paperwork.
  • Provide service to Club members and insureds in person, by telephone, email, fax, or correspondence.
  • Process insurance and membership changes for existing policies and membership records and complete accurate transaction documentation.
  • Conduct policy reviews to identify cross-sell opportunities based on insured product needs and service requests.
  • Diversify members' use of products and services and provide sales leads to travel and other departments as appropriate.
  • Collect membership and insurance payments and maintain security when handling Club monies and receipts.
  • Attend meetings, training workshops, and seminars for professional development and product knowledge.
  • Perform other assigned or required duties and adhere to scheduled duties and activities directed by management.
  • Perform customized needs analyses to satisfy members' or non-members' insurance needs.
  • Maintain current knowledge of membership services, insurance underwriting and coverage provisions, billing statements, payment options, cancellations, and processing.
