Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS) in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Business or similar field
  • Lean practitioner and/or Six Sigma certification
  • 5+ years of experience in lean operations and project management.
  • Knowledge of lean principles, tools, and systems such as Value Stream Mapping, Process Design, Material Flow, Visual Management, Standard Work, Leader Standard Work, 5S, TPM, Mistake Proofing, Root Cause Analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience with processes improvement, with the ability to promote and sustain continuous improvement efforts/projects and culture through engaging, enabling, and empowering others.
  • Strong analytical skills with the demonstrated ability to analyze multifaceted, complex situations, problems, and concepts.
  • Position may require travel up to 50% of the time.
  • MBA or Master’s degree in Operations, Business, or Engineering field of study (preferred)
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification (preferred)
  • Scrum Certification (preferred)
  • Experience directly managing people including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people as they work (preferred)
  • 7+ years of experience implementing or managing business operating systems – inclusive of cross-functional planning routines, leadership standard work, continuous improvement methods, and process standards (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Statistical Analysis, Program/Project Management, Tableau, SAP, WMS, and ERP systems (preferred)
  • Proven track record of identifying, developing and implementing pragmatic operational improvement initiatives (preferred)
  • Strong problem-solving skills, organizational and project management skills, with a keen attention to detail (preferred)
  • Ability to translate data into clear and actionable insights for stakeholders. Strong analytical and statistical skills (preferred)
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects in parallel (preferred)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing work accordingly (preferred)
Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of the company’s continuous improvement learning paths and development strategy using an integrated learning management system.
  • Provide training, coaching and mentoring of lean principles, concepts, behaviors and tools that enhance the existing culture to one of continuous improvement at all levels of the organization. Train and coach others across the network to become Lean practitioners and team facilitators.
  • Share best practices, report progress and provide support to other Continuous Improvement and Training Managers as a member of the operations training and development team.
  • Promote, guide and lead transformation teams in the implementation of the Medline Operating System, which includes the use of various process improvement tools including, but not limited to: Process Mapping, Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work, Waste and Loss Analysis, Continuous Flow, Material Flow, Visual Management, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Facilitate and/or coach continuous improvement kaizen teams/events, track progress, and follow up to ensure gains are sustained.
  • Ensure continuous improvement training and development strategy addresses needs of the designated employee population. Collaborate with partners and internal stakeholders to conduct needs analyses and determine areas of opportunity in training and development.
