Responsibilities
  • Define the design strategy for how customers understand and use cash, high-yield, and credit accounts and inter-account transfers as their organization grows.
  • Partner with product manager leaders to frame problems, prioritize opportunities, and embed design early in product strategy.
  • Establish moving money into, within, and out of Airwallex as a user experience foundation for other product areas.
  • Oversee research, object modeling, interaction design, research and testing, and user interface design for the team’s products and features.
  • Set and maintain a high standard for user experience and user interface quality in complex, data-rich screens such as tables, charts, reconciliation views, and approvals across desktop, mobile web, and native mobile applications.
  • Ensure teams use research, experimentation, and product analytics to understand customer behavior.
  • Shape rituals, feedback practices, and shared standards that keep designers connected across regions and domains.
  • Collaborate with the design system team so the team’s experiences use and extend shared patterns.
  • Manage and develop senior and staff-level product designers across the Sydney and Singapore design studios, setting expectations for impact, craft, and ownership.
  • Develop effective collaboration practices with product managers and engineers from problem framing through launch and iteration.

By working together, the pair aim to help logistics businesses improve cash flow, reduce friction in cross-border commerce and embed financial services more directly into day-to-day workflows. What the partnership brings. Visa is contributing expertise in commercial payments, acceptance strategy, risk management and solution design, while Airwallex is bringing embedded-finance capabilities, multi-currency infrastructure and global platform technology. Together, the companies say they want to build solutions tailored to the operational realities of freight and shipping, rather than applying a generic payments model. According to data from the Hong Kong Tourism Board, the city welcomed approximately 23 million visitors between January and May 2026, marking a 14% increase year-on-year. Retail sales in the region also saw year-on-year growth of 12.8% in March and 8.6% in April 2026, creating an opening for businesses to expand merchant payment acceptance across online-to-offline (O2O) touchpoints. As digital touchpoints and contactless transactions become standard, customer expectations for consistent checkout experiences have grown.
