Requirements
  • Be registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators for at least two years.
  • Have a strong disposition toward administration, organization, research, and inquiry.
  • Be comfortable with technology and learning new software processes.
  • Have a clear understanding of the Child Care and Early Years Act, related legislation, Compass Early Learning and Care policies and procedures, and the organization's vision framework.
  • Have a minimum of five years of experience working as a Registered Early Childhood Educator.
  • Possess the training and documents required by the Ministry of Education, Compass Early Learning and Care, and Child Care and Early Years Act requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Facilitate and participate in staff meetings.
  • Support a culture of collaboration, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Support educators in planning and implementing play-based experiences based on children's interests.
  • Administer payroll, billing, and subsidy reconciliations; maintain staff files; and coordinate staffing needs.
  • Support succession planning for children and staff.
  • Support implementation of the program budget in partnership with the team, co-leads, and finance.
  • Adhere to and support Ministry licensing and reporting guidelines, Compass Early Learning and Care policies, and procedures.
  • Build and maintain relationships with children, families, staff, volunteers, students, community partners, and school staff.
  • Ensure the safety and cleanliness of equipment, furniture, and materials.
  • Welcome new team members, families, and children into the program.
