Extended School Year Orientation and Mobility Specialist

Job Summary\:
The Extended School Year program is hiring Orientation and Mobility Specialists to work directly with school-aged Special Education Students on an itinerant 1\:1 basis throughout Bucks County.

Essential Functions\:

• Independently plan and effectively deliver curriculum based on needs specified in Individual Educational Plans.
• Observes, evaluates and prepares reports on progress of students.

Supervisory Responsibility\: No direct supervisory responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands. The employee is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee may be required to stand for long periods, and to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work

June 25 through July 31, 2025

Monday through Thursday

Flexible schedules may be available.

Travel\:   Travel may be required for in home and itinerant instruction throughout Bucks County. Mileage is reimbursed in accordance with current IRS guidelines and rates.

• Bachelor's Degree
• Active, Pennsylvania Special Education- Orientation and Mobility Certification
• Active, Pennsylvania Special Education- Visually Impaired N-12 Certification

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities\:

• Experience working with students with Autism, life skills, multiple disabilities and/or other disabilities is beneficial in this position.
• Experience working in educational settings with professional communication, collaboration and teamwork skills.
• Ability to accept and implement teacher directives to support students and staff in classroom.
• Ability to work independently.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable)\:  Citizenship or work authorization to work in the United States required.
