Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field; equivalent industry experience may substitute for formal education.
  • A minimum of 10–15 years of progressively responsible experience in electrical construction, including at least 5 years in a QA/QC leadership or corporate-level quality-management capacity.
  • Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code, National Electrical Manufacturers Association, National Fire Protection Association, American National Standards Institute/National Electrical Testing Association Acceptance Testing Specifications, and other electrical construction standards applicable to data centers and large-scale commercial projects.
  • Proven ability to develop, implement, and sustain Corporate Quality Management Systems and project-level inspection programs.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Quality Manager certification.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certification.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • CQM-C certification from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Responsibilities
  • Provide corporate leadership and direction to the QA/QC organization across all projects.
  • Develop and implement the Corporate Quality Management System, including procedures, standards, and controls aligned with the National Electrical Code, National Electrical Manufacturers Association, National Fire Protection Association, and client specifications.
  • Oversee companywide QA/QC policies, procedures, templates, and inspection tools.
  • Lead the recruitment, selection, and development of project-level QA/QC Managers and Inspectors.
  • Establish performance goals, review metrics, and provide coaching and support to QA/QC teams.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for project quality issues and coordinate their resolution with project leadership, corporate management, and client representatives.
  • Define the QA/QC framework for prefabrication, field installation, testing, and commissioning readiness.
  • Develop and maintain Inspection and Test Plans, Non-Conformance and Corrective Action procedures, and Turnover Documentation Protocols.
  • Integrate QA/QC requirements into project planning, procurement, and construction sequencing.
  • Align design specifications, installation standards, and inspection deliverables across projects.
  • Align inspection milestones with system turnover and energization readiness.
  • Embed quality controls that reinforce safe work practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain governance of quality records and documentation systems for traceability, accuracy, and audit readiness.
  • Provide corporate governance of QA/QC performance through structured reviews, metrics, and reporting.
  • Oversee execution of project-level QA/QC programs for compliance with the Corporate Quality Management System and client specifications.
  • Establish quality performance indicators, including rework rates, Non-Conformance and Corrective Action closure trends, client audit findings, and commissioning acceptance metrics.
  • Lead reviews of significant quality events, root-cause analyses, and corrective-action tracking through closure.
  • Capture, communicate, and embed lessons learned and systemic improvements into future projects.
  • Develop and maintain governance tools and dashboards for executive visibility into quality-performance trends.
  • Coordinate with Construction, Prefabrication, and Commissioning leadership to align production, safety, and quality objectives.
  • Participate in design and constructability reviews to embed quality standards early in the project lifecycle.
  • Define QA/QC deliverables, resource needs, and quality commitments for proposals with Business Development and Preconstruction teams.
  • Represent Hays Electrical Services during client quality audits, witness testing, and executive-level performance reviews.
  • Conduct periodic project visits to reinforce quality expectations, engage QA/QC teams, and assess program effectiveness.
  • Facilitate communication between field QA/QC personnel and corporate leadership regarding emerging quality issues and improvement opportunities.
  • Lead cross-project coordination meetings with QA/QC Managers and Inspectors.
  • Provide strategic feedback to project leadership teams on compliance, documentation integrity, and delivery quality.
  • Promote accountability and continuous improvement across QA/QC functions through communication, recognition, and leadership visibility.
  • Evaluate QA/QC program effectiveness and drive continuous improvement in processes, documentation, and field execution.
  • Maintain a corporate quality dashboard for executive review.
  • Identify training needs and collaborate with Learning and Development to build technical training programs.
  • Benchmark company performance against industry best practices and client frameworks.
