Requirements
  • Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical or a related field, or certification program of comparable length
  • Two to four (2-4) years of experience in electrical systems or automation, SCADA programming and controls
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license
Responsibilities
  • Understands / troubleshoots discrete and analog control circuits, including 4-20mA
  • Installs, maintains, and calibrates equipment used in water and wastewater plants
  • Operates hand, power, electronic, and electrical tools
  • Troubleshoots, repairs, and calibrates electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic transmitting and controlling systems
  • Repairs and replaces fuses, breakers, motor starters, motors, and other electrical parts
  • Fabricates and installs electrical and instrumentation systems including control of chemical feed pumps, electronic valves, automatic level controls, control panels, remote control alarms, conduit, wiring, load centers, transfer switches, and AC drives
  • Install, set up, and troubleshoot Variable frequency drive
  • Installs and updates system software
  • Tracks and schedules work in a work order system
  • Recommends system improvements to system operators or supervisor
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
  • Three to five (3-5) years of experience with electrical / electronic instrumentation control systems
  • Preference will be given to those with experience in industrial electrical systems and controls or industrial electrical automation
  • Journeyman electrician certification
  • Experience with digital logic (ladder logic or computer logic)
