About the team and the role:

As a Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building and improving our suite of Generative AI Services at platform scale for eBay’s domain teams. Your work will focus on developing solutions that enable rapid deployment of Generative AI capabilities, empowering domain teams to innovate and deliver value quickly. This role requires you to create detailed design blueprints, break down designs into implementable tasks, and contribute to the overall

What you will accomplish:

• Develop and enhance AI solutions, ensuring alignment with the Core AI team’s vision and objectives.
• Participate in the complete project lifecycle for new requirements, including design, implementation, and deployment, following the specifications outlined by the product team.
• Design architectural blueprints and break them into actionable tasks to ensure efficient and timely delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and implementation of new features and solutions.
• Engage in architectural reviews, proposing improvements and adopting new technologies as warranted by the project and organizational goals.
• Address high-priority (P1/P0) support issues, ensuring minimal disruption to services, and collaborate with team members to resolve them effectively.

What You Will Bring

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees are preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in software development, showcasing strong expertise in Java, especially with Spring Boot and GraphQL.
• In-depth knowledge of design patterns and best practices for developing scalable and maintainable software, with a strong focus on optimizing performance.
• Proficient in AI technologies, particularly those involving data streaming (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Flink)
• Experience working with Generative AI LLMs, building solutions using LLMs, RAG templates, Vector databases, Langchain and Prompt Engineering.
• Experience in working with both relational and NoSQL databases, ensuring robust data management.
• Expertise in Graph Databases, Knowledge Management Systems, and Ontology Designs.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, with solid skills in communication and collaboration to work effectively across various teams.
