Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or an equivalent Google productivity suite is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Willingness to learn wastewater treatment processes and take instructions is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in wastewater treatment plant operations or a related field is required.
  • The ability to work day and night shifts, including 12-hour shifts when needed, is required.
  • Availability for emergency call-ins or phone support is required.
  • The ability to lift or carry up to 75 pounds, climb ladders up to 30 feet, stand for extended periods, walk on uneven surfaces, bend regularly, use extension ladders, and maneuver in tight spaces is required.
  • The ability to work in wastewater treatment plants and outdoors while exposed to extreme weather, chemicals, electrical hazards, grease and oil, loud noise, vibration, steam, moisture, and other hazardous conditions is required.
  • Applicants must be immediately eligible to lawfully work in the United States; the employer will not sponsor U.S. work authorization.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain operational coverage of Veolia-operated facilities in the designated region as vacations and unplanned absences arise, including day and night shifts.
  • Assist with the operational development of local technicians through hands-on training visits, electronic training materials, and direction of individual training efforts.
  • Ensure industry standards and best practices are used at operated facilities, including record keeping, laboratory testing, operational practices, and preventive maintenance.
  • Support new account start-up projects by developing operational tasks, procedures, and goals with the Senior Wastewater Operational Technician team and training newly hired technicians.
  • Provide troubleshooting support to local technicians and ensure proactive decisions are made on a regular basis.
  • Operate and control electric motors, pumps, and valves to regulate water flow into wastewater treatment plants.
  • Collect and test wastewater samples to determine concentration levels and impurities at the required testing frequency.
  • Maintain accurate client records, including chemical residuals, water turbidity, and water pressure.
  • Comply with Veolia and client safety programs.
  • Analyze laboratory data, identify potential treatment issues, and implement process changes to prevent non-compliance.
  • Compile data for the Environmental Protection Agency or a state regulatory body when required.
  • Coordinate with other operators to maintain wastewater treatment equipment.
  • Consult with clients and Veolia management to determine the best wastewater treatment approach.
  • Coordinate third-party maintenance support for projects outside Veolia's scope of work.
  • Complete and document preventive maintenance, including filter and oil changes, bearing lubrication, temperature documentation, and valve exercising.
  • Complete or assist with minor maintenance projects, including chemical pump repairs or replacements, small PVC piping installation, valve replacement, air-operated double-diaphragm pump repairs, and check-valve cleaning and repairs.
  • Complete or assist with intermediate maintenance projects, including mechanical pump seal replacement, packing seal replacement, impeller replacement, full PVC line replacement, centrifugal pump replacement, displacement pump replacement, and check-valve cleaning and repairs.
  • Provide supervision and leadership to team members and direct daily wastewater plant operation and maintenance activities.
  • Provide or facilitate operator training and create and maintain facility-specific standard operating procedures.
  • Optimize wastewater plant operations, chemistry, and equipment to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
  • Schedule workload independently and manage laboratory supplies, consumables, equipment parts, and maintenance-program inventories.
  • Make process changes based on laboratory data and process knowledge to correct compliance issues or improve treatment.
  • Evaluate operators' skills and abilities to assign or delegate laboratory analysis, maintenance, preventive maintenance, chemical inventory, and waste-disposal tasks.
  • Evaluate maintenance projects, determine the need for outside support, and coordinate with client maintenance teams or contractors.
  • Participate in team meetings and discussions, cover coworkers' absences, and communicate with clients and Veolia management about site operations, compliance, maintenance, personnel issues, and technician training progress.

Veolia raises $1.3B in oversubscribed senior bond offering with $3.8B orders

Veolia posts 10.4% net income growth in H1 2026, raises full-year guidance to 8%

Veolia Environnement reported revenue of €22.93 billion for the first half of 2026, up 1.5% at constant scope and foreign exchange, excluding energy prices. Veolia launches $452M non-dilutive cash-settled convertible bonds due 2032

Veolia Environnement has launched a €400 million offering of non-dilutive cash-settled convertible bonds due January 2032. The bonds will be offered exclusively to qualified institutional investors through an accelerated bookbuilding process. The synthetic convertible bonds offer exposure to Veolia's share performance but will be cash-settled only, without issuing new shares. Enviri spins off New Enviri as standalone public company with $1.2B revenue after Clean Earth sale
