Chumash Casino Resort launches annual 'Project Pink' to support breast cancer awareness

Chumash Casino Resort launches annual 'Project Pink' to support breast cancer awareness. The Chumash Casino turned pink last week with blush-tinted sweets, officially launching its annual Project Pink campaign that aims to raise funds and awareness during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Throughout October, guests can find an array of pink-colored desserts, snacks and cocktails across the resorts eateries, with proceeds - matched dollar- for-dollar by the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians Foundation - benefitting the Breast Imaging Center at Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital. "Project Pink has grown into a meaningful annual tradition a the Chumash Casino Resort, thanks to the incredible dedication and passion of our Food and Beverage team," said Kenneth Kahn, Chumash tribal chairman. "We're honored to continue supporting the Breast Imaging Center at Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital, whose life-saving work impacts our community every single day." New treats this year include cherry blossom coconut cake, raspberry orange panna cotta, cherry limeade cupcakes, and chocolate raspberry cookies - joining returning favorites like red velvet cake, rosewater pistachio mousse, and whimsical chocolate molds shaped like high heels and purses. The month's featured drink, the Prickly Pear Margarita, adds a splash of color with its pink hue and notes of watermelon, kiwi and bubblegum. The campaign's proceeds will help the Goleta Valley hospital continue offering advanced diagnostic services such as 3D mammography, ultrasound screening and bone density scanning for early cancer detection. "We are grateful to be chosen for a second consecutive year as the beneficiary of the Chumash Foundation's Project Pink campaign, said Arie Dejong, vice president for Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital, Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital and Therapy Services. "This support will enable our team to continue the early detection of breast cancer that helps save lives in our community."
