Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all events under the Office of the Provost, Office of Faculty Affairs, Graduate School, and Office of Undergraduate Affairs, including awards, orientations, town halls, lecture series, development, athletics, and commencement-related activities.
  • Manage event materials, including websites, social media posts, and copy.
  • Direct the development, planning, and daily operations of meetings and events for the assigned department.
  • Oversee staffing, venue selection, set-up, tear-down, and on-site project management for activities and events.
  • Coordinate amenities and accommodations at events.
  • Monitor and control event budgets and negotiate necessary contracts.
  • Negotiate and write proposals to secure sponsorship to offset event expenses.
  • Oversee completion of proper financial paperwork.
  • Work with print and broadcast media for event coverage.
  • Recap and analyze events and suggest improvements.
  • Develop and promote community relations opportunities.
  • Oversee the performance of vendors, volunteers, and staff at events.
  • Establish and continuously assess the effectiveness of internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.
  • Ensure employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policies and procedures.
