Senior CAD Designer that will be an integral role in the design and upfit of Heavy Duty Railroad Work Truck Bodies

Principal Purpose of Position:

• The Senior CAD Designer is responsible for developing and maintaining complex 3D CAD models, assemblies, and the associated 2D drawings under limited supervision.  This role entails designing new custom truck bodies and railroad truck bodies with ownership of developing and implementing standardized features, materials, and best practices across the product line.  There is also a focus on generating Solidworks 2D manufacturing drawings.  This role will be assigned projects of high complexity, will be considered a CAD expert, and will work closely with Design Engineering.    
• Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

JOB INPUTS

• Create new custom truck body and truck upfit accessory CAD models and assemblies with best practice modeling techniques.
• Create and maintain detailed manufacturing drawings following our engineering drawing standards.
• Create and maintain CAD file structures in Enterprise PDM utilizing the folder structure, naming convention, and BOM strategy defined in our Engineering standards. 
• Create simplified Sales Drawing layouts of new concepts for client approval.
• Create and follow-up on Engineering drawing releases by working closely with Holman Manufacturing team members. 
• Communicate closely with Design Engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing, Installation Operations and Purchasing,
• Resolve design, drawing, and manufacturing issues in a timely manner.

Education and/or Training:

• Associate’s Degree in Technical Field, such as CAD Design, Engineering Technology, Product Design, or Manufacturing Technology preferred.  Equivalent work experience and skills are also acceptable.
• Advanced to expert level proficiency with Solidworks required.
• Proficiency with Enterprise PDM or equivalent Product Data Management tool required. 
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Power Point

Relevant Work Experience:

• Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience in 3D modeling, design, and manufacturing drawings required.
• Working knowledge of GD&T fundamentals is required.   
• Develop and maintain 3D CAD parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies for our products utilizing best modeling practices, file management, data cleanliness, and standardization.
• Develop and maintain 2D manufacturing drawings that are the appropriate balance of efficient and thorough.
• Create clean BOM’s and file structure in PDM to create consistency across our product lines.
• Implement improvements and cost reductions to existing products.
• Communicate closely with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, and others.

Compensation between $67,670 - $98,125

Pay:

We offer competitive wages that are commensurate with job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and geographic location, starting in the range of $67,670.00 - $98,125.00 USD annually for full time employees. The annual compensation range is comprised of base pay earnings.
