Responsibilities
  • Manage and prioritize multiple tasks and assignments to ensure timely completion of customer billing.
  • Perform various complex billing calculations using departmental databases, CC&B and other tools and sources of information while following ACC Rules and Regulations to ensure accurate and timely collection of Revenue.
  • Provide and ensure accurate control measures are taken, as well as analysis is performed, on meter reads, interval data and billing calculation for high profile and high dollar accounts, (i.e. totalized and virtual totalized metering, other complex metering assemblies, Key Accounts, solar and specialized rates).
  • Ensure proper revenue recovery from APS customers by understanding and adhering to all ACC Rules and Regulations relevant to billing and rebilling of customers.
  • Provide accurate billing statements within appropriate guidelines and ACC Rules and Regulations while maintaining strict accuracy levels and having authority and responsibility to settle minor billing disputes.
  • Ensure training, development and maintain knowledge pertaining to Direct Access, emerging technologies, customer programs, rates and software required to perform timely and accurate billing.
  • Provide guidance to other team members and across business units to enhance knowledge, development, issue resolution and productivity.
  • Perform billing analysis and quality assurance review on large dollar/consumption and complex meter design customers.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with CC&B IT, Business Operations Analysts, Meter Shop, Field Services, Account Managers and Intelligent Grid Operations (IGO) team to allow for issue resolution, obtaining reads, and prioritizing key work which ensures timely and accurate billing.
  • Completes User Acceptance testing (UAT) and Regression testing as needed (e.g., CC&B updates, Rate Case, Billing Projects, Customer Programs, etc.)
Desired Qualifications
  • One (1) year in APS billing position meeting and/or exceeding the proficiency and performance metrics within the Billing Department.
  • Understanding of CC&B and Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) Rules and Regulations and how they pertain to billing as a regulated entity.
  • Ability to review, apply, and accurately bill all APS rates while ensuring that the correct corresponding meter type is installed at the time of billing.
  • Knowledge and ability to utilize applications and systems applicable to the business unit (Meter Data Management System (MDMS), Advanced Meter Infrastructure (AMI), head-end metering applications such as Connexo, Command Center, and FCS, Maximo, GIS, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of AMI infrastructure, including meter types and programs, rate compatibility and rate structures. Validation, Estimation and Editing (VEE) process within MDMS, customer programs and rate compatibility, as well as register and interval data, and Socs and DOC ticketing and ADMS application.
  • Ability in applying account and meter analysis, problem solving skills and critical thinking.
  • Experience in the use of MS Office products.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt in times of change according to priorities, assignments, emerging rates and technologies.
