Government Relations Intern
Part-Time, Paid Government Relations Intern (2025)
Parsons Corporation is seeking a dedicated and passionate Government Relations intern to provide support to the Government Relations team for 2025.
The selected candidate will become familiar with the Government Relations team’s role in Congressional, Executive Branch, state and local governments and policy in the critical infrastructure and national security domains.
This candidate will enjoy a hybrid work arrangement in the Washington DC area.
Job Description:
Research and track legislation at the state and federal levels.
Summarize relevant Congressional hearings, Executive branch reports, state and local activity, think tank webinars, and industry events.
Draft and prepare internal communications on relevant legislation, regulations, and Government Relations activity.
Draft preparation materials for company executives, including biographies, agendas and talking points.
Research and analysis pertaining to the Parsons Political Action Committee and lobbying disclosure reporting.
Support Government Relations team projects, events, and other activities and assignments as needed.
Develop valuable skills, network, and gain exposure to Capitol Hill, federal agencies, and state executive and legislative branches.
Qualifications:
Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s in Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, National Security, Engineering or related field.
GPA of 3.0 or greater
Preferred Skills:
Strong analytical, writing, interpersonal, and communication skills
Interest in critical infrastructure, defense, national security, government, and legislative affairs
Interest in technology and innovation
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Ability to multitask and work independently
