Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering (ABET-accredited)
  • 5+ years of experience in process engineering for liquid food or beverage systems, specifically in confectionery, pet food, fermentation, dairy, dressings and sauces
  • Strong understanding of sanitary design, CIP systems, and fluid handling equipment
  • Excellent communication and project coordination skills
  • Familiarity with industry codes and regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, USDA, 3-A)
Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of liquid processing systems for food and beverage manufacturing facilities
  • Translate client requirements into process design scope and deliverables
  • Manage and coordinate with internal teams, clients, vendors, and construction partners
  • Oversee technical deliverables such as P&IDs, mass and energy balances, equipment specifications, and process narratives
  • Support and lead activities: vendor package management and technical bid evaluations; Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT); risk assessments (HAZOP, HACCP); 3D model reviews and coordination; commissioning and startup support
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical development initiatives
Desired Qualifications
  • PE or EIT certification
  • Experience with construction support (RFIs, submittals, punch lists)
  • Hands-on experience with commissioning and troubleshooting liquid process systems
  • Knowledge of automation and control systems for liquid processes
