DIS-TRAN Steel is looking for an experienced Design Engineer to join the team in Pineville, LA.
The Design Engineer is responsible for conceptual, preliminary, and final design calculations of high voltage substation, transmission, and distribution of steel structures. Possible responsibilities include preliminary designs with weight take-offs for estimating, project management, schedule and document coordination with diverse customer base, and preparation of final structure designs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Designs and interprets drawings for the following: Transmission structures & Substation structures.
- Ensures compliance with customer specifications and design codes.
- Problem solves issues related to design, construction, and compliance.
- Answers technical questions posed by Shop and Field personnel.
- Recognizes and recommends methods to improve every customer’s experience.
REQUIREMENTS:
- The Design Engineer position requires a Bachelors Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or University.
- Engineering Intern (E.I.) preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe required.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD is considered a plus.
- Excellent communication, organization, and writing skills are a must.
- Regular, reliable attendance is required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 4 years of experience designing transmission and/or Substation structures for the High Voltage industry.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering is required.
- PE is required
- Strong background in PLS-Pole, STAAD.pro, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required; strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
