Security Data Analyst

We are looking for a passionate Security Data Analyst to help us parse, transform, and analyze security data. Reporting to the Security Analyst Coordinator. The ideal candidate possesses a thorough understanding of Python, Data analysis techniques, ETL patterns, and automation techniques. This is a remote role supporting a hybrid workforce in an estimated 40 hours per week.

What You’ll Do

• Parse and transform structured and unstructured datasets
• Develop ETL style automation scripts
• Build python based automation for the parsing platform
• Maintain and improve the existing codebase and infrastructure
• Manage weekly ingestion process
• Collaborate and design with team to build innovative data systems

Our Stack 

• Python (some Golang)
• Linux
• Databases - Relational, NoSQL
• AWS - EC2, RDS, SQS, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, and much more

Requirements

• 1 - 2 years of professional experience as a Python developer
• Experience with building data solutions and automation tools using Python
• Experience with Linux, bash/ksh scripting, and Regular Expressions
• Demonstrable interest in cybersecurity
• Good understanding of computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, data processing fundamentals)
• Experience with databases (relational, NoSQL, Search/Analytics)
• Excellent communication skills
• Great team player skills
• Highly self-directed, empathetic, and curious. Eager to automate repetitive tasks
• Be self-motivated and be able to switch contexts as business needs change

Nice to Have

• A background or strong interest in cybersecurity
• Familiarity with a version control system. We use Git.
• Experience with AWS - Compute, Storage, Database
• Familiarity with building REST APIs
