  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team with excellent time management skills to ensure deadlines are met

  • Must possess strong technical verbal and technical writing skills and be able to read technical literature, regulations, guidance documents, and engineering plans

  • Must have demonstrated subject matter expertise related to environmental science and consulting
  • Must be capable of acting as an independent contributor by successfully completing/directing tasks and delivering technically sound reports and products
  • CADD/GIS skills preferred
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree (preferable) from an accredited four-year college or university, with coursework in Environmental Science or a related field(s) and/or equivalent work experience
  • Six or more years of environmental consulting experience preferred
  • Current registration as a Professional Soil Scientist, Wetland Professional, or Professional Geologist in one or more states in which the firm conducts business is preferred
  • Ability to travel day travel and overnight stays as required
  • Experience in supervising staff and mentoring team members (from supervisory responsibilities)
  • Experience in developing proposals including time schedules and costs
  • Experience coordinating invoicing and client communication
  • Experience cross-marketing other firm services to clients
  • Experience communicating with clients as a technical expert
  • Experience collecting and interpreting data and providing client briefings
  • Experience reviewing QA/QC of tasks
  • Experience identifying issues and seeking resolutions with clients
  • Experience developing and delivering environmental documents and permitting tasks
  • Experience coordinating with regulatory agencies on permits
  • Experience marketing and business development tasks
  • Experience supervising Environmental Technicians and Environmental Scientists I, II & III
  • Experience delivering technically sound reports and products
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the production and delivery of technically sound environmental documents and projects to meet client expectations and budgets
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies on permitting tasks to ensure compliance
  • Mentor and supervise staff; provide feedback on team performance
  • Develop proposals including calculation and estimation of time schedules and costs of proposed work
  • Cross-market other firm services to appropriate clients
  • Communicate on technical matters with clients as a technical expert
  • Travel as needed for day travel and overnight stays
  • Reliably collect and interpret data following established methods and guidelines
  • Provide briefings of findings and make recommendations to clients
  • Act as subject matter expert, directing, monitoring, and completing assigned projects
  • Delegate and coordinate tasks and schedules with project team members
  • Coordinate timely invoicing of fees
  • Teach and train Environmental Technicians and Environmental Scientists I, II & III
  • QA/QC checks of assigned tasks
  • Identify technical, schedule or financial issues and seek resolution with the client as appropriate
  • Develop environmental documents and independently coordinate with regulatory agencies on permitting tasks
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with environmental permit applications and permitting processes with regulatory agencies
  • Professional Geologist or Wetland Professional certification
  • CADD/GIS skills
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science or related field with emphasis on environmental permitting is preferred
  • Six or more years of environmental consulting experience preferred
