- Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player attitude
- Must be age of majority to serve alcoholic beverages
- Flexibility with shifts of the Restaurant and Lounge dependant on business demands
- Willingness to learn new concepts and ideas
- Smart Serve Training Certification
- Experience working in Union Environment
- Must be willing to work varying shifts
- Prepare serving stations and work areas for each meal period
- Assist with the smooth execution of meal service during peak times
- Offer continued support in preparation for the next meal period
- Have a full understanding of the food offering and be proficient in explaining each dish to the guest
- Assist all Guests with inquiries or requests in a pleasant, helpful manner
- Demonstrate a complete understanding of policies, procedures and set service standards as outlined in the Royal York Colleague Handbook and Resource Guide
- Demonstrate a complete knowledge and understanding of all steps of service and duties and perform them to the set standards as outlined in the Job Task Checklist
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
- Attend pre-shift, weekly and monthly meetings to continually improve the Guests experience
- Understand how to operate all the equipment used in the outlet
- Fully understand and follow the hotel’s recycling program and procedures
- Carrying out any miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as requested by your Manager pertaining to quality service delivered in the restaurant
- Smart Serve training program certification an asset
- OTEC certificate an asset
- Experience working in Union Environment
