Responsibilities
  • Oversee all golf retail, food and beverage, tee time, membership, and society operations.
  • Work productively for 90% of working time, leading from the front within the Golf Shop.
  • Maintain membership and committee relations as the core of Golf department activity.
  • Promote national and local corporate golf memberships.
  • Lead execution of the Golf department operating strategy.
  • Manage the retail operation by ensuring the Golf Shop is stocked, organized, and cleaned daily.
  • Recommend promotional merchandise sales to increase revenue.
  • Ensure golf equipment is in good condition and receives regular maintenance.
  • Identify and recommend new products, equipment, and product enhancements to remain competitive.
  • Confirm and coordinate group arrivals and organize group golf events; oversee tournament coordination, including player pairings, equipment rentals, score tabulation, and prize selection and distribution.
  • Oversee tee-time bookings using BRS and driving-range bay bookings using SweetSpot to maximize yield.
  • Adjust tee-time and bay pricing dynamically to optimize revenue yield during peak times.
  • Monitor golfers' playing time to support optimal speed of play and intercept trespassers.
  • Schedule staff according to business demands, including lone working during winter.
  • Ensure the golf course and retail outlets are safe and secure for guests and associates.
  • Communicate golf department goals, performance, and organizational changes through team meetings.
  • Compile and send weekly membership updates about available benefits.
  • Coordinate with the management team to integrate hotel group business smoothly and communicate the golf forecast and course-maintenance downtime.
  • Train and execute departmental emergency procedures.
  • Develop relationships within the local community.
  • Drive a culture of service excellence among the team and committee members.
  • Lead by example in delivering customer service and creating a positive club atmosphere.
  • Develop accurate long- and short-range objectives consistent with company strategy.
  • Interact positively with team members to ensure a strong guest experience.
  • Foster positive member and guest relations and maximize satisfaction.
