Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent work experience in a similar or related industry is required.
  • At least five years of rental or sales experience is required.
  • At least three years of rental product-line experience, including outside sales and rental-counter supervision, is required.
  • At least two years of experience managing others is required.
  • Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office environment is required.
  • A complete understanding of marketplace conditions is required to maximize rental-fleet utilization.
  • Profound knowledge of rental operations and asset management is required.
Responsibilities
  • Increase rental margin and revenue through maximum vehicle utilization, operational-cost control, and an aggressive marketing strategy that plans for future customer needs.
  • Manage outside sales, customer retention, fleet management, the daily cash log, and the marketing plan.
  • Ensure branch operational efficiency through hiring, training, supervising, motivating, and developing people.
  • Set appointments with prospective customers and perform customer-retention visits.
  • Conduct customer reviews and surveys to determine satisfaction, overcome objections, and sell product value.
  • Develop fleet-planning information and recommendations for the Director of Rental.
  • Ensure rental contracts are properly completed and customers are placed in ready vehicles.
  • Act as custodian of cash and rental assets/accounts receivable.
  • Follow up on problems and analyze fleet-management reports to identify problem vehicles.
  • Check vehicles for physical damage and close or extend contracts using the correct number of days and miles.
  • Ensure maintenance and fleet appearance meet company standards.
  • Recruit and select new hires, provide ongoing guidance, communication, and training, and execute performance appraisals.
  • Coordinate and maintain accurate data in the company marketing database.
  • Maintain and expand relationships with the existing customer base.
  • Maximize rate opportunities within the marketplace.
  • Provide rental-counter training and supervision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Ryder beats EPS forecast by 27 cents on 6% rise in used tractor sales

Ryder reports Q1 results Thursday with flat revenue expected
