Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Consistently deliver guest experience commitments to create an Easy, Inspiring, and Friendly guest experience.
  • Ensure every team member understands, is trained, and consistently delivers Target’s guest experience commitments and consistent operations.
  • Actively observe and provide feedback, hold team members accountable, and recognize strong guest experience moments.
  • Review area guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, take action to improve results, and align the team on execution.
  • Lead daily and weekly workload execution to deliver department and store sales goals and guest engagement, including receiving products, merchandising, signing, setting and updating merchandise sales-floor displays, sampling, restocking shelves, organizing backrooms, and processing price changes for General Merchandise areas.
  • Educate the team on how operational procedures affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.
  • Help assess reporting to identify gaps in General Merchandise processes and assist in developing plans to resolve them.
  • Assign daily tasks to team members based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns, aligned with business priorities.
  • Establish clear goals and expectations and hold team members accountable to expectations.
  • Help lead pick, pack, and ship fulfillment work accurately and assess fulfillment reporting to identify gaps and develop plans.
  • Ensure products are in stock, available, accurately priced, and signed on the sales floor while prioritizing guest experience.
  • Collaborate with all teams and leaders to identify priorities and ensure the store is guest-ready.
  • Stay informed about relevant trends and products and relay Target communications during team connection moments.
  • Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team.
  • Support team onboarding and learning, close skill gaps through development and coaching, and identify team members for future leadership positions.
  • Support guest services such as backup cashier and digital fulfillment processes while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local adult beverage laws.
  • Demonstrate inclusivity and create equitable experiences.
  • Follow Target policies, safety procedures, food safety and pricing guidelines, and help maintain a safe, compliant workplace by reporting and correcting hazards.
  • Lead and demonstrate a safety culture by modeling and recognizing safe behaviors, correcting hazards, holding the team accountable to safety expectations, assisting with incident response, and reporting and investigating injuries accurately and promptly.
  • Model physical security processes and support merchandise protection strategies across the store.
  • Follow all safe and secure training and processes when serving as a key carrier, if applicable.
  • Occasionally assume store-level leadership on duty responsibilities during assigned shifts.
  • Address store emergency and compliance needs.
  • Perform other duties based on business needs.
