Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least five years of litigation assistant experience is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel is required.
Responsibilities
  • Assist attorneys by performing complex administrative and clerical duties.
  • Schedule appointments and arrange conferences and extensive travel; maintain attorneys' calendars and daily dockets to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Interact with people at all levels in the firm, industry, and community, including through frequent client contact.
  • Communicate attorneys' instructions to various individuals and furnish and obtain information from other attorneys within the practice area.
  • Create, organize, and maintain client files and follow up on pending matters.
  • Maintain electronic client, research, and administrative files using NetDocuments.
  • Respond to clients' questions and obtain information as required.
  • Anticipate attorneys' needs and prepare necessary documentation in draft for attorney review, including miscellaneous correspondence.
  • Provide document production services, including styling and formatting documents, or facilitate this process.
  • Proofread documents and check formatting, spelling, and grammatical accuracy.
  • Prepare documents and packages for mail, messenger, and overnight delivery, ensuring that attachments, exhibits, and enclosures are intact.
  • Receive and redirect attorney requests and needs as appropriate to expedite solutions.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail and email.
  • Submit conflict checks through OPEN.
  • Enter new client matter information in OPEN and prepare engagement letters.
  • Prepare expense reports and disbursement forms.
  • Perform routine state and federal electronic court filings and retrieve pleadings when requested.
Desired Qualifications
  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
