Requirements
- B.S., M.S., or Ph.D in Mechanical, Electrical, Software or equivalent engineering field
- 5+ years of experience in the design and certification of complex electromechanical and/or robotic systems
- Experience in compliance engineering, submitting products for domestic and global approvals, and obtaining regulatory certifications
- Experience documenting technical requirements extracted from standards and certifications documents
- Working knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (e.g. FCC, CE, UL2271, UL3300, UL4600, UN38.3)
- Hands-on approach to the test and debugging of electromechanical systems
- Fundamental knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and/or software engineering
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for audiences ranging from technicians to senior executives
Responsibilities
- Lead interdisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with all relevant certifications and standards at the system and subsystem level
- Lead preliminary and formal compliance and certification testing performed at external agencies and third party test facilities
- Lead interdisciplinary teams through complex root-cause analysis and resolution in which there are many possible root causes that involve various areas of engineering, using a structured approach for problem solving
- Identify and prioritize certifications and standards relevant to the emerging and evolving field of public-facing robots
- Develop system and subsystem requirements informed by relevant standards and certifications in collaboration with Systems Engineering
- Manage relationships with external agencies shaping the compliance landscape for public-facing robots
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in one or more of the following industries: automotive, medical, aerospace, robotics
- Experience in autonomous systems and/or mobile robotics
