Responsibilities

You will be responsible for building and maintaining modern data pipelines that make data available and accessible to the entire company. The team works closely with Data scientists, Product Managers, Business analysts and other key parts of the business to understand their data requirements and build appropriate solutions and platforms
You will be responsible for building and maintaining scalable and fault tolerant microservices to enable a real time streaming platform. You would understand the right patterns of breaking up a problem domain into communicating microservices architecture
As a Staff Engineer you will lead by example, build a culture of technical excellence within the team. You will act as a tech lead for a small team of Software Engineers and take ownership over the quality of deliverables and future roadmap
You will be expected to gain expert understanding of our complex domain model. You will be encouraged to come up with strategies to simplify our models, identify and fix data redundancies and inconsistencies

Desired Qualifications

5+ years of experience with Scala ( points for an equivalent mastery of Java)

What you will own

What you bring to the table

7+ years of server side Software Engineering
5+ years of experience building ETL pipelines
5+ years of experience with Scala (bonus points for an equivalent mastery of Java)
5+ years of experience with databases - both SQL and noSQL
3+ years acting as a Tech lead for a team of 3+ engineers
Experience with technologies like Cassandra, Kafka, Hbase, Hive, Parquet, Impala, Presto, Redshift, Bigquery is nice to have
Experience in converting business requirements into technical designs

The salary range below is for Base Salary. Total compensation also includes benefits and variable compensation. Compensation will be determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, skill set, years of experience, and the employee’s geographic location.

Base Compensation

$130,000—$250,000 USD
