Requirements
- 5+ years of robotics, AV (Autonomous Vehicle), or other real-time, safety-critical experience
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or other relevant Engineering disciplines
- Ability to build solutions from first principles
- Strong C++
- Background in prediction/forecasting with experience in learning and modeling from data
- Strong knowledge in probabilistic machine learning
- Experience building ML pipelines and managing data quality
- Effective communication and collaborative
Responsibilities
- Lead the research and development efforts for features that encompass varying levels of autonomy
- Build the prediction stack that takes Rivian from L2 to beyond
- Design models from the ground up with an eye on run-time performance and prediction quality
- Optimize prediction for accuracy and reliability in complex merging and high traffic scenarios
- Work across teams to define and lead ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) feature sets
- Collaborate with Validation and Systems to define and monitor key metrics leading prediction design
Desired Qualifications
- Experience writing probabilistic forecasting models
- Experience working with GPUs (graphics processing units)
- Demonstration of State-of-the-Art knowledge in AV (Autonomous Vehicle) prediction
