Requirements
  • A strong background in the independent agency distribution channel.
  • Carrier-side sales management experience; a combination of carrier and agency-side experience is especially ideal.
  • The ability to lead through influence.
  • A track record of building results.
  • Typically eight to ten years of sales or sales management experience.
  • The ability to uncover root causes of issues and evaluate the risks and benefits of different solution options.
  • The ability to establish and maintain effective customer and distribution partner relationships.
  • The ability to establish clear responsibilities and processes for monitoring work and measuring results.
  • The ability to adapt personal and interpersonal behavior in the moment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Expert knowledge of breaking down objectives into appropriate initiatives and actions.

  • A valid driver's license and safe driving record.
Responsibilities
  • Understand the strategic and operational goals of the assigned territory and individual distribution partners to identify mutually beneficial solutions using data and analytics, local marketplace information, and competitor knowledge.
  • Proactively identify and implement actions to achieve territory goals.
  • Lead the new business and transfer process, including identifying new transfer and new business appointments, setting expectations for results, managing commitments, and ensuring delivery of new or transferred business production.
  • Use available tools and resources, including Salesforce, Seismic, dashboards, and reporting, to increase operational efficiency.
  • Gather distribution partner feedback and share continuous improvement opportunities with business partners across the company.
  • Collaborate with personal lines and farm geography partners and other Nationwide counterparts, including claims and servicing, on problem solving, education, promotion, sales-practice reviews, and input.
  • Complete the annual planning process for appropriate distribution partners, document agreements in Salesforce, and hold partners accountable to those agreements.
  • Partner with Product, Marketing, and other business partners to identify and act on opportunities within the territory.
  • Lead portfolio management meetings with appropriate distribution partners to ensure alignment with territory goals; monitor portfolio data and analysis to drive profitability and revenue through assigned relationships, focusing on top- and bottom-line growth.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Desired Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree in general business, insurance, sales, marketing, or a related field.

Nationwide has reported record financial results for 2025, entering its centennial year with total adjusted capital of $32.8 billion, the highest in its 100-year history.
