The Role
Reporting to the Director of Strategic Alliances and working closely with the rest of the Business Development team you will originate, develop, and manage strategic relationships with partners to help Scale develop and deploy microgrid and other distributed energy projects in key markets. This is a hybrid role, and you will ideally be located in Los Angeles, CA, Denver, CO, Ridgewood, NJ, or New York City.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Research, identify, and qualify potential partners who will support Scale in achieving our annual goals
- Manage a pipeline of qualified leads and assist with the development, negotiation, and execution of partner contracts
- Manage and train strategic partners on Scale’s products, services, and value proposition
- Assist with establishing clearly defined goals for each partner relationship, and update and maintain the proper reporting metrics and funnel management
- Facilitate frequent discussions with both partners and our internal team to track opportunity progression to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
- Act as a true extension of our strategic partners’ teams and assist with quarterly partner reviews of established goals
- Support Scale’s business development teams in efficient communication with partners, partners’ project development, and qualifying/developing strategic partner leads identified by business development managers
Ideal Candidate
- 5+ years of work experience in sales, business management strategies
- Previous working knowledge of energy project development, financing, and contracting
- An awesome network of energy peers
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and sometimes ambiguous environment
- Self-motivated, requiring minimal oversight to excel
- Familiar with CRMs (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Master’s degree preferred or a Bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience
