Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • At least 5 years of experience within the semiconductor industry or a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting supplier quality, material qualification, risk management, supplier audits, quality systems, manufacturing quality, procurement collaboration, or related engineering functions.
  • Hands-on experience with Measurement System Analysis, calibration systems, Statistical Process Control, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, problem-solving methodologies, quality management systems, and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to assess material risks and performance trends using data analytics.

Responsibilities
  • Lead material quality readiness activities supporting technology development and high-volume manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with Technology Development teams on First of a Kind material quality readiness, supplier quality programs, and specification development.
  • Assess material risks, predict failure modes, and accelerate qualification readiness using artificial intelligence and machine-learning-driven analytics and historical data.
  • Support sourcing strategies including business continuity planning, benchmarking, new market evaluations, and supplier capability assessments.
  • Drive cross-fab technology transfer activities and supplier quality programs for new, unique, difficult, and critical materials.
  • Lead Category Strategy Team meetings to share lessons learned, align on material strategies, and prevent recurring issues globally.
  • Use artificial-intelligence-enabled knowledge management systems to capture, classify, and distribute lessons learned across sites.
  • Lead supplier sourcing, qualification, and risk management activities.
  • Conduct supplier and material qualification risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Deploy artificial-intelligence-based risk scoring models, digital dashboards, and scenario modeling tools to prioritize qualification risks.
  • Support sourcing, segmentation, benchmarking, supplier selection, and business continuity initiatives.
  • Conduct technical capability and readiness audits for new suppliers and materials.
  • Use digital audit tools and artificial-intelligence-assisted pattern recognition to identify hidden risks and systemic gaps.
  • Establish, communicate, and ensure compliance with Supplier Requirement Standards.
  • Drive supplier development, specification management, and quality improvement programs.
  • Lead alignment of global material specifications for specialty gases and chemicals.
  • Support development of smart specifications using artificial-intelligence-driven process capability insights and predictive limits.
  • Partner with Material Category Leads to develop Category Quality Strategies, Quality Roadmaps, and Defense Line Programs.
  • Implement preventive quality programs, benchmarking activities, and Shift-Left quality initiatives.
  • Facilitate supplier Quality and Technical Review meetings using data visualization and artificial-intelligence-driven insights.
  • Manage supplier and sub-supplier changes through supply chain management processes.
  • Oversee resolution of globally impacting material quality issues.
  • Collaborate with OCT, MTE, Operations, and Facilities teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Cascade lessons learned globally to ensure closed-loop prevention.
  • Define, measure, and monitor supplier performance metrics and Supplier Requirement Standards compliance.
  • Develop automated dashboards, predictive scorecards, and artificial-intelligence-enabled supplier performance monitoring systems.
  • Continuously improve supplier quality processes, productivity, and operational effectiveness.
  • Partner with Procurement during supplier evaluations using quality-based performance metrics and analytics.
  • Deliver weekly updates regarding supplier performance, activities, concerns, and improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain communication with Global Quality, Procurement, OCT, Operations, and cross-functional partners.
  • Escalate issues appropriately and ensure timely resolution.
  • Keep stakeholders informed of progress, risks, mitigation plans, and opportunities.
  • Generate executive-ready reports using artificial-intelligence-assisted reporting, dashboards, and visualization tools.
  • Leverage automated storytelling and reporting platforms to enhance decision-making and visibility.
  • Establish measurable professional development goals aligned with business priorities.
  • Use coaching, mentorship, and feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Build artificial intelligence and data literacy related to machine-learning models, data pipelines, and digital quality tools.
  • Adopt and champion artificial-intelligence-enabled workflows and digital processes within Supplier Quality Engineering.
  • Collaborate with global Supplier Quality Engineers on strategic category initiatives.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert supporting supplier digitalization and artificial intelligence adoption efforts.
  • Lead or participate in predictive quality, smart Statistical Process Control, supplier risk intelligence, and automated audit initiatives.
  • Drive innovation through data integration, automation, and artificial-intelligence-enabled supplier collaboration platforms.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience leveraging artificial intelligence, machine learning, advanced analytics, or digital tools to improve supplier quality, manufacturing quality, yield, qualification performance, or excursion management.
  • Experience with Power BI, data visualization platforms, digital dashboards, automated reporting systems, artificial-intelligence-assisted productivity tools, and executive summary generation.
  • Working knowledge of semiconductor materials, wafer manufacturing processes, material criticality assessments, supplier quality ecosystems, and material qualification programs.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, digital quality systems, and artificial-intelligence-enabled compliance monitoring solutions.

Micron's $50B revenue target gets boost as SK Hynix surges 8.3% on AI-memory demand

Micron Technology received a bullish signal on Monday as SK Hynix surged 8.3% and Samsung Electronics rose 5.7%, while US markets remained closed for Labor Day. Micron had jumped 6.1% on Friday to $1,016.59. The memory chipmaker reported $41.46 billion in quarterly revenue with an 84.9% adjusted gross margin and $18.3 billion in adjusted free cash flow. Management guided fiscal fourth-quarter revenue to $50 billion, plus or minus $1 billion, with an adjusted gross margin near 86%. Reaching the midpoint would require sequential revenue growth of 20.6% before Micron reports on 30 September. At current levels, shares trade 63.22% above their $622.82 GF Value estimate. The company must now demonstrate that AI demand can deliver on its extraordinary revenue target.

Citadel slashes Micron stake by 87% despite chip stock's 671% surge

Ken Griffin's Citadel Advisors has slashed its stake in Micron Technology by 87%, reducing its position from roughly 4.6 million shares to 600,523 shares over the last three months. The move comes even as Micron shares surged 671% over the past year amid the AI memory boom. The reduction was not isolated. Citadel also cut its Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing stake by 87%, trimming roughly 3.5 million shares, and reduced STMicroelectronics holdings by 44%. This suggests Citadel may have been reducing overall risk rather than making a bearish call on semiconductors specifically. AI hyperscalers to spend $1.3T on data centres in 2027, boosting Nvidia and chip stocks

Nvidia has projected that the five major AI hyperscalers will spend approximately $1.3 trillion on capital expenditures in 2027, signalling substantial growth in AI infrastructure investment. This forecast, shared during Nvidia's Q2 earnings call, suggests significant opportunities for companies in the AI hardware supply chain.
