We are looking for a Sr. UX Designer to join us as we build cutting-edge technology solutions! This is your opportunity to be part of a team that is committed to delivering best in class service to our customers.
In this role, you will be an integral part of the Cloud and AI division, focusing on creating cohesive and intuitive design systems that power some of the most impactful digital experiences. You will engage directly with cross-functional teams to bring consistency and innovation to various platforms, ensuring they meet the high standards expected across the company’s ecosystem. Your contributions will enhance visual interaction and usability across these sites, playing a key role in shaping the future of the company’s design systems.
Responsibilities:
- Design System Implementation:
- Contribute to the redesign of visual interactions for Microsoft’s reactors site, ensuring consistency and alignment with other ecosystem experiences such as the Founder’s Hub, Partners Hub, and Learn at Microsoft.
- Execute 60% heads-down design work, focused on crafting and refining UI/UX elements that align with the overall design system.
- Collaboration & Feedback:
- Partner closely with other designers and the engineering team to gather and incorporate feedback, ensuring design solutions meet both aesthetic and functional requirements.
- Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers to maintain high design standards.
- User-Centric Problem Solving:
- Think critically about user needs and pain points, employing a user-centric approach to design that solves complex problems effectively.
- Advocate for inclusive design practices, ensuring that solutions are accessible and user-friendly across diverse audiences.
- Design Artifacts Creation:
- Develop scenarios, process flows, information architecture diagrams, wireframes, prototypes, and other design artifacts to communicate design concepts and interactions clearly.
- Maintain and evolve UI pattern libraries and interaction guidelines to ensure consistency across products.
- High-Quality Execution:
- Ensure all design activities are executed with a high level of quality, attention to detail, and thoroughness.
- Meet project deadlines and contribute to a cohesive and well-organized design system.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in UI/UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing work on B2B websites and business applications.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma (2-3 years minimum experience required), Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, and other relevant software.
- Demonstrable experience in shipping mobile, web, or software products within tight milestone deadlines.
- Solid understanding of software design and development processes, with experience in working collaboratively with program management, engineering, and research teams.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate design decisions and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proven problem-solving skills, particularly in user-centered design and complex interaction challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with FLUENT, Microsoft’s design system, is a plus, though not required.
- Prior experience working in the tech industry, particularly with large-scale design systems, is preferred.
- A portfolio that demonstrates a strong focus on B2B websites, business applications, and good visual design is highly desirable.
Salary Range
Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors including, without limitation, skill sets, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographical market. The pay range for this position reflects geographic based ranges for Washington state: $100,000 to $115,000 USD/annually. The salary/wage and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
