Requirements
- Must be a graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program.
- Must have state licensure and the national certification requirements met.
Responsibilities
- Provide rehabilitative services to occupational therapy patients under the direction of occupational therapists.
- Treat disabilities, injuries and diseases according to physician prescription and plan of care created by the Occupational Therapist using modalities and skills of the profession.
- Carry out treatment plans to restore, compensate or adapt for loss of patient function.
- Carry out treatment in accordance with the physician’s prescription, and as planned/documented by a supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Observe hospital rules relative to the care and treatment of patients.
- Care for equipment and apparatus, economical use of supplies, lines and utilities, and cleanliness of the department.
- Maintain documentation in compliance with hospital and Rehabilitation department policies and procedures.
- Verify patient information by interviewing patient, reviewing medical history, and confirming purpose of treatment.
Desired Qualifications
- One year in a hospital is preferred.
- Ability to fabricate all varieties of splints is preferred.
