Must be a graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program.
Must have state licensure and the national certification requirements met.
Responsibilities
Provide rehabilitative services to occupational therapy patients under the direction of occupational therapists.
Treat disabilities, injuries and diseases according to physician prescription and plan of care created by the Occupational Therapist using modalities and skills of the profession.
Carry out treatment plans to restore, compensate or adapt for loss of patient function.
Carry out treatment in accordance with the physician’s prescription, and as planned/documented by a supervising Occupational Therapist.
Observe hospital rules relative to the care and treatment of patients.
Care for equipment and apparatus, economical use of supplies, lines and utilities, and cleanliness of the department.
Maintain documentation in compliance with hospital and Rehabilitation department policies and procedures.
Verify patient information by interviewing patient, reviewing medical history, and confirming purpose of treatment.
Desired Qualifications
One year in a hospital is preferred.
Ability to fabricate all varieties of splints is preferred.
