Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in the dental laboratory industry, with comprehensive knowledge across crown and bridge, implants, removable, and specialty categories.
  • Strong knowledge of dental laboratory operations, including digital scanning, materials, workflows, and industry trends.
  • Experience engaging effectively with doctors, laboratory partners, and internal teams through communication and relationship management.
  • Customer service and sales acumen to influence and promote preferred laboratory partnerships.
  • Supplier management experience to evaluate, measure, and drive performance improvements among laboratory partners.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to assess data, identify trends, and develop strategic recommendations.
  • Project management experience, including deployment of new systems or operational enhancements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and other data management tools for reporting and analysis.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain strong partnerships with the company's preferred dental laboratory network, ensuring optimal pricing, service quality, and adherence to performance standards.
  • Lead regular business reviews with preferred laboratory partners to evaluate and optimize quality, turnaround times, and billing accuracy.
  • Hold laboratory partners accountable for key performance indicators, including on-time delivery and first-time quality.
  • Collaborate with the Procurement team to evaluate and negotiate contracts with new and existing laboratory partners.
  • Support implementation and rollout of the company-wide laboratory management system across all offices.
  • Serve as the day-to-day administrator of the laboratory management system, maintaining data integrity, pricing accuracy, and system performance after rollout.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline laboratory ordering workflows and improve the user experience for offices and clinicians.
  • Troubleshoot laboratory management system issues and serve as the primary internal contact for system-related questions.
  • Support rollout of the laboratory formulary and drive adoption of preferred laboratory partners across the network.
  • Monitor Associate Doctor ordering patterns to ensure compliance with preferred laboratory assignments.
  • Partner with Operations and Clinical Leadership to help offices overcome barriers to using preferred laboratories.
  • Address non-compliant ordering trends through education, communication, and escalation as appropriate.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for doctors and office teams on laboratory selection, utilization, and issue resolution.
  • Address laboratory-related concerns, troubleshoot issues, and provide guidance on laboratory selection and case management.
  • Help resolve issues between laboratories and offices, ensuring timely and satisfactory resolution.
  • Escalate unresolved performance or quality issues with laboratory partners and manage corrective action plans.
  • Analyze laboratory usage trends, pricing structures, and service levels to identify cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Generate regular reporting on laboratory spend, compliance rates, turnaround times, and remake rates for procurement leadership.
  • Stay current with advancements in dental laboratory technology and materials.
  • Educate doctors and team members on laboratory offerings, pricing structures, quality expectations, and preferred laboratory partnerships.
  • Create and maintain training documents and standard operating procedures for laboratory-related processes.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Operations, and Clinical Leadership to align laboratory initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Cross-train in other procurement functions to provide coverage and support as needed.
  • Support other projects assigned by procurement leadership.
