Position Overview
This role can be based in any of our US locations: Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ; Santa Clara, CA; or Ashburn, VA, in alignment with our flexible work policy (3 days in, 2 days flexible).
The Director of Technical, Operational and Compliance Training, Global is a key leadership role responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive global data center learning academy at Vantage Data Centers. This position will spearhead the creation of in-role training frameworks to ensure that new and existing employees can develop their capabilities to become highly skilled and effective within their roles.
Reporting to the VP for Learning and Development, Global, this role will collaborate closely with departmental heads and subject matter experts to develop training matrices and career paths across key areas of our global business upholding our global standards. The Director will also oversee the delivery of compliance training to relevant Vantage Data Center populations and manage the global learning management system and other learning content systems to provide on-demand learning opportunities.
Essential Job Functions
Lead the strategy, development and implementation of a world class global data center learning academy creating departmental learning academies for key areas of our business.
Lead the people and process to ensure we are fully compliant in all aspects of compliance and mandatory training deployment via our learning management system.
Partner with departmental heads and SMEs to create comprehensive training matrices and career paths across key business areas.
Own and Manage the global learning management system strategy and other learning content systems to facilitate on-demand learning.
Develop and execute the strategy to ensure a high level of technical, operational, and compliance training is achieved across the global business, ensuring global consistency where possible.
Collaborate with regional learning and development teams to ensure consistency in academy implementation and content delivery.
Lead a team consisting of digital training designers, a learning management system administrator, and technical training managers.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key senior stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment of training initiatives with business objectives.
Bring data center training best practice into the organization, building and maintaining relationships with external key industry stakeholders.
Build a strategy with and partner with key departments to design and implement in-role training frameworks for various positions within Vantage Data Centers.
Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps across the organization and develop targeted training programs.
Oversee the creation and maintenance of training content and learning framework design, including e-learning modules, instructor-led sessions, and hands-on workshops.
Work across the global business to ensure consistency and create a common employee experience when it comes to development.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, making data-driven improvements as necessary.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards through appropriate training initiatives.
Manage the budget for the global data center learning academy and related training initiatives.
Stay current with industry trends and best practices in technical and operational training, particularly in the data center sector.
Provide regular reports on training metrics, progress, and impact to senior leadership.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Training and Development, Instructional Design, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in training and development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven experience in building and implementing a data center academy model in a previous role.
Strong knowledge of data center operations, technologies, and industry trends.
Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Demonstrated experience in developing technical training frameworks and career paths.
Proficiency in learning management systems and e-learning authoring tools.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence an partner with senior stakeholders successfully.
Experience in global or multi-regional training program implementation.
Experience of having lead a global team in a matrixed organization.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
Travel is expected to be less than 10% but may increase over time as the business evolves.

Additional Details
Salary Range: $160,000-$170,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)
This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and AD&D, short and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program that includes company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.
Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
