Requirements
  • A PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Aerospace Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related field must be earned by the position start date.
  • Ability to utilize pedagogies proven to increase student engagement and retention.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • A record of professional development, or willingness to develop, in areas related to teaching, research, or scholarly work.
Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate Mechanical Engineering courses and laboratories in different modalities.
  • Participate in curriculum development and academic assessment.
  • Participate in professional development, which may include undergraduate research and scholarly activities.
  • Provide university and community service.
  • Serve as academic advisors.
  • Work with colleagues across campus on cross-disciplinary collaborations outside the classroom.
  • Teach graduate-level courses as part of the online Master of Science in Engineering program when opportunities are available.
Desired Qualifications
  • Willingness and ability to teach a broad range of Mechanical Engineering courses.
  • Willingness to develop courses in emerging areas of Manufacturing and teach Manufacturing Processes, Engineering Materials, and Design of Machine Elements.
  • Ability to teach Engineering Modeling and Design and Mechanisms and Machines.
  • Strong background in other areas of Mechanical Engineering.
