Space Modeling and Simulation Engineer

We’re seeking a modeling and simulation-focused exercise planner with an operational to strategic mindset to enhance national defense. In this role, you’ll utilize your knowledge of the U.S. military structure and the space domain to optimize training tools for local and distributed audiences.
Your expertise will translate real-world military requirements into effective warfighting capabilities, ensuring impactful training for the modern warfighter. As a Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Exercise Planner, you’ll be deeply involved in planning, assessing, and evaluating training exercises that focus on space-based assets. You’ll use computer-based analytical tools to develop and update simulations based on operational needs. This role requires strong critical thinking, data analytics, and operations analysis skills, and offers valuable experience in constructive modeling, simulation, and military training for the space force.

You Have:
- 4+ years of experience serving in one of the branches of the U.S. military
- 1+ years of experience with JMDTS
- Experience supporting the planning and execution of Tier Exercises in accordance with Joint Publication 5-0 and the Joint Planning Process
- Experience with simulated environments or scenario development that meet individual and unit training requirements
- Knowledge of the Joint Training Program (JTP) and JELC doctrine and processes
- Ability to analyze large amounts of raw model output to identify key drivers
- Ability to distill, summarize, and articulate complex technical insights and findings
- Ability to follow operational analysis principles, theories, and concepts to execute study plans and analysis matrices
- TS/SCI clearance
- Bachelor’s degree
Nice If You Have:
- Experience developing scripts to customize model behaviors and decisions within an analytical scenario
- Experience with RAPTR, BORG, SIDC, NYX, or FROST
- Experience with C2BMC, WASABI, PDS-M, or STK
- Experience developing M&S scripts to customize model behaviors and decisions within an analytical scenario
- Knowledge of Orbital Mechanics

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
