Requirements
  • Have 6-10 years experience in a relevant field, such as analytics or data science, performing quantitative and technical analysis, ideally with experience in marketplace or e-commerce environments
  • Experience proactively identifying areas where analytical efforts can add strong business value and setting the analytics roadmap
  • Demonstrated proficiency in explaining complex analysis to stakeholders at all levels of the organization and translating conclusions into straightforward, actionable business recommendations and strategic direction
  • Expert proficiency in SQL and experience with Python and libraries such as Pandas/Numpy/ SKLearn strongly preferred
  • Past experience and knowledge of data science / ML approaches (e.g. time series forecasting, clustering, Random Forest, Gradient Boosting and Logistic Regression, etc)
  • Past experience applying statistical methods, e.g. in analyzing A/B tests or in-market experiments & metric trends to determine statistically significant changes
  • Self-directed and demonstrated ability to define, prioritize, and direct analytics initiatives
  • Expert conducting quantitative analyses on large, complex data sets using modern data exploration and visualization software (e.g. Snowflake, Looker, Tableau, Google Data Studio, PowerBI)
  • Experience partnering with business teams on agile model development
  • Be able to own and deliver projects/programs both on your own and as a member of a broader team
Responsibilities
  • Own and develop the strategic analytic agenda to unlock insights about our customers and their use of our products, guiding the business through action-oriented business insights and recommendations
  • Develop scalable analytic processes, methods, and self-service tools to ensure other analysts and partners are empowered to make data-driven decisions with a positive impact on success metrics
  • As an individual contributor, be the advisor and subject matter expert for data, analytics, and testing for your domain; advance innovation and improvements to the analytics techniques, approaches, and processes used across the company
  • Lead the analytic strategy for broad, unstructured problems while driving forward deliverables that address fundamental and ambiguous business questions
  • Lead the team in applying predictive modeling and deep-dive advanced statistical and data science approaches in analyses (e.g. clustering models, classification, feature models, etc)
  • Provide leadership on corporate initiatives which requires the ability to work with executives and be a thought partner with the cross functional leadership team
  • Shape our product strategy and roadmap in order to innovate our growing site and product offering through insights into customer needs and opportunities
  • Explain customer behavior through data-driven analysis, including a combination of ad hoc analyses, KPI definition & monitoring, dashboard & report building, A/B test experimentation design and analysis, and proactive insight generation and modeling
  • Use business analytics approaches and modeling to explain how customer use of product features translates to financial impact as well as conduct scenario planning, modeling, and sensitivity analysis
