Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED, or 10 years of work experience.
  • For Wisconsin locations, a high school diploma or GED or 10 years of work experience, plus graduation from a medical assistant school or training program or education equivalency for certification.
  • Three years of experience.
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Ability to maintain a constant state of alertness and work safely.
  • Ability to stand and walk constantly.
  • Ability to communicate information orally using hearing and speech frequently.
  • Ability to hear body sounds, alarms, and malfunctioning machinery frequently.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing 0-25 pounds frequently and 25-50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to reach, grip, use a keyboard, and perform data entry frequently.
  • Ability to use near and distance vision and distinguish colors.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, crawl, kneel, sit, squat, and perform repetitive foot, leg, hand, and arm movements occasionally.
  • Ability to judge distances and spatial relationships using vision occasionally.
  • Ability to lift or move patients occasionally.
  • Ability to use smell to detect or recognize odors occasionally.
  • Ability to drive occasionally.
Responsibilities
  • Present medication to patients and observe ingestion or administer medication using specified procedures.
  • Take vital signs or observe patients to detect responses to medication and report reactions.
  • Restock medication inventories.
  • Provide direct patient care as needed.
  • Ensure resident safety by identifying safety hazards and emergency situations and initiating corrective action as appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
