- The ability to operate a motor vehicle to travel between clinics is required.
- Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain vital signs, past and present medical history, and current medication lists.
- Communicate allergy testing and treatment protocols to patients.
- Administer subcutaneous, intradermal, and intramuscular injections.
- Conduct thorough and accurate spirometry testing.
- Perform testing and treatment according to clinic protocols and safety measures.
- Navigate the electronic health record system to record accurate patient health information.
- Greet, welcome, and direct patients and visitors appropriately.
- Assist with incoming and outgoing phone calls and provide accurate information.
- Track clinical inventory and request resupply when needed.
- Complete end-of-day reports and logs accurately.
- Follow HIPAA confidentiality rules for patient information.
- Follow OSHA requirements, including universal precautions and sharps disposal guidelines.
- Assist with IOP at the Colorado Springs and Centennial clinics once monthly.
- Order pre- and post-IOP medications as necessary.
- Assist with training and ongoing mentoring of new clinical hires.
- Cross-train in front- and back-office duties to provide full-cycle clinic support.
- Become proficient in the practice-management functions of the electronic health record.
- Obtain computed tomography authorizations.
- Scan patient documents and medical records and attach them to charts.
- Check patients in, including obtaining demographic, primary care provider, contact, and insurance information.
- Check patients out and take payments.
- Communicate a patient's out-of-pocket maximum.
- Send end-of-day emails to appropriate parties.
- Schedule patient appointments.
- Enroll patients in their treatment of choice.
- At least 1 year of front-office experience.
- At least 1 year of nursing experience.
- Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- The ability to communicate clearly and effectively to exchange information.
- The ability to maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
- The ability to react calmly and effectively in difficult or emergent situations.
