Requirements
  • A good driving record is required.
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Effective oral and written English communication skills are required.
  • At least 2 years of mechanical experience and electrical knowledge and/or training are required.
  • The ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and occasionally move 200 pounds or more with a dolly or hand truck is required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform field service to test and repair malfunctioning washers and dryers.
  • Use test equipment to determine the condition of machines.
  • Examine machines during operating cycles to detect excess vibration, overheating, fluid leaks, and loose parts.
  • Disassemble machines and examine mechanical and electrical parts.
  • Replace worn or defective parts, including switches, pumps, bearings, transmissions, belts, gears, blowers, and defective wiring.
  • Replace and adjust motors.
  • Reassemble appliances, adjust pulleys, and lubricate moving parts.
  • Advise the dispatch department about equipment in the field that should be replaced.
  • Drive a company vehicle to and from work locations.
  • Maintain company vehicle fluid levels and tire pressure, and keep the vehicle clean.
  • Maintain stocks of replacement parts for servicing coin-operated washers and dryers.
  • Contact apartment managers and customers to ensure good customer relations.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish are desirable.
  • Prior washer and dryer repair experience is desirable.
