The round was led by Kleiner Perkins with significant participation from NVentures, Nvidia's venture capital arm. This new funding comes just six months after the startup emerged from stealth with a $23 million seed round led by Coatue. WisdomAI was founded by Soham Mazumdar, a co-founder of the data security giant Rubrik. The company offers an AI-driven data analytics platform that allows business users to ask questions in natural language. Its key differentiator is the ability to query structured, unstructured, and even "dirty" data - information that hasn't been cleaned of typos or errors. The company employs a novel method to prevent the "hallucinations" that plague many large language models (LLMs). Instead of using an LLM to write the answer to a question, WisdomAI uses it to write the query that retrieves data from a warehouse. This way, a hallucinating LLM simply produces an ineffective query rather than inventing a false answer for the user.
