Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in security, with additional experience allowed in substitution for the degree requirement.
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent additional experience.
  • Security+ certification.
  • ITIL Foundations certification, or the ability to obtain it within 60 days of hire.
  • Experience configuring and validating network workstations and peripherals in accordance with approved standards or specifications.
  • Experience installing Microsoft Windows Server in host and compute environments, including Windows Server installations using server images.
  • Experience implementing storage solutions, high availability, Domain Name System, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, network connectivity, remote access solutions, core and distributed network solutions, and advanced network infrastructure.
  • Experience maintaining and monitoring server environments.
  • Ability to provide support in a 24/7/365 environment, including rotational after-hours, weekend, holiday, or out-of-shift coverage.
  • Ability to travel to continental United States sites for temporary duty support.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • A current Top Secret clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information access.
Responsibilities
  • Work with the AFCENT Insider Threat working group to establish a mature Insider Threat management capability that detects and reports Insider Threats to commanders, law enforcement, mental health, cybersecurity, counterintelligence, security, civilian and military personnel management, and legal stakeholders.
  • Support the AFCENT Insider Threat office and Office of Special Investigations in executing the Command Insider Threat program.
  • Conduct Insider Threat operations using host, network, intelligence, and dynamic data acquisition technologies to identify, characterize, and counter Insider Threats.
  • Use User Activity Monitoring capabilities to detect anomalous insider activity.
  • Conduct auditing and data collection in support of Insider Threat cases and investigations.
  • Provide on-site support and on-call response to operate, maintain, and audit User Activity Monitoring tools for all network locations assigned by the Authorizing Official.
  • Analyze findings developed by the Office of Special Investigations and supporting organizations during Insider Threat operations.
  • Develop metrics and trends to identify internal cyber threat actors attempting espionage or attempting to compromise information systems at network locations under the Authorizing Official's responsibility.
  • Tune User Activity Monitoring tools in accordance with Department of Defense, Office of the Secretary of Defense, and Air Force guidance.
  • Work with Cybersecurity Engineering personnel on the operation and maintenance of User Activity Monitoring tools.
  • Provide relevant data and briefing support to the Command Insider Threat office.
  • Participate in and support the AFCENT Insider Threat working group.
  • Work with the AFCENT Insider Threat Working Group to identify thresholds and create Insider Threat triggers.
