Requirements
  • Successfully pass the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources Protected Services Record Check and West Virginia CARES fingerprint-based criminal background check if assigned to the Child Development Center, Chestnut Ridge Center, or Center for Hope and Healing.
  • Have the physical capability to stand, walk, reach, climb, ascend and descend stairs and ladders for up to eight hours.
  • Have the physical capability to lift and carry 25–50 pounds for up to eight hours.
  • Have the physical capability to push and pull 25 pounds for up to eight hours and 15–90+ pounds for up to two hours.
  • Use proper precautions when exposed to vibrations and skin or lung irritants such as stripper, wax, and cleaning chemicals.
  • Be attentive to instructions, guidance, and rules for performing assignments.
  • Maintain assigned areas so they are clean and professional in appearance, with corners and edges free of buildup.
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner and keep to a set schedule of multiple tasks.
Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide range of skilled floor care duties.
  • Clean carpets within established procedures.
  • Properly operate and use floor care equipment, including floor burnishers, floor vacuums, carpet extractors, auto scrubbers, side-by-sides, wet/dry vacuums, and boost machines.
  • Complete assigned tasks according to established schedules.
  • Mix and use chemicals in a safe and controlled manner while following established rules and guidelines.
  • Move furniture and other items before and after cleaning, stripping, and waxing.
  • Report equipment maintenance issues in a timely manner for proper repairs.
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment when working with chemicals and equipment.
  • Interact with hospital staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Work every other weekend and rotate holidays during the 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. schedule.
